Social class system
United Kingdom is one of the nations where class system was operated rigorously. One’s social background could play a major role with how well he or she will do in life. Today we have a modern society, which has seen major changes in the economy and has developed into a multicultural society. This has led to the slow erosion of the old class system. But is it completely gone or are there still some remnants of the old class system? Social class system can be very complex and is full of various dimensions. Groups of people are formed on the basis of the place they live in or their occupation. Thankfully trailer insurance are not based on class system.
Does it still exist?
The relevance of social class is always a major discussion unfortunately it only leads to highly bizarre and confusing results. Some people believe that it still exists and that the difference could be seen when a person from the working class would eat chips whereas the upper class would eat the roasted potatoes. On the other hand some people strongly believe that the class system does no longer exist.
I personally believe that class system does exist even today. This is something that we as country should not be proud about. A friend of mine once voiced his desire of becoming a millionaire, to my surprise another friend of mine who was a part of our conversation, suddenly said something like, “even though you are from such and such background?”. I was completely shocked and was immediately forced to disconnect all ties with this individual. Not to mention the sense of equality that I carry was kicked on its face.
